Liar, Liar … blog on Fire!

I ran across a “Hatfield ‘n McCoy” posting blitz where the underlying beef is plagiarism, resulting in an apology from the perpetrator. The thing that struck me though was a reference in one of the comments to a site, copyscape.com, that apparently searches for phrases in your site that appear on other sites.

The site states: “Copyscape is dedicated to defending your rights online, helping you fight against online plagiarism and content theft. Copyscape finds sites that have copied your content without permission, as well as those that have quoted you.” (as an aside, I fully expect my quoting them will show up in a http://www.copyscape.com/ search). There are three levels of service; a free Copyscape service and two paid-subscription services.
